This page does not show live prices. Use the rate from your jeweller or a trusted rate source. Value is shown in the same currency as the rate you enter.

How it works

Your weight is first converted to tola. The value is then the weight in tola multiplied by the 24 karat rate and by the purity, where 22 karat counts as 22 out of 24 parts of pure gold. Making charges, if you enter them, are added as a percentage of the gold value.

Formulas and units

  • Gold value = weight in tola × rate per tola × (karat ÷ 24)
  • Total = gold value + gold value × making charges ÷ 100
  • 1 tola = 11.664 grams = 12 masha = 96 ratti
  • 1 masha = 0.972 gram, and 1 ratti = 0.1215 gram

Steps to use it

  1. Enter the weight and choose its unit.
  2. Choose the purity in karat.
  3. Enter today’s rate for 24 karat gold per tola.
  4. Add making charges or wastage if you want them included, then press Calculate value.

Frequently asked questions

How many grams are in one tola?

One tola is 11.664 grams. It is divided into 12 masha, and each masha is 8 ratti.

Why do I have to enter the rate?

Gold prices change during the day and differ between markets and shops. Entering your own rate means the answer matches the price you were actually quoted.

Why does my jeweller’s price differ?

Shops may price each karat separately, add making charges, deduct wastage or charge for stones. Enter those charges as a percentage to compare, and ask the shop for a written breakdown.

Do I pay Zakat on gold?
