Age Calculator

Enter a date of birth to see exact age in years, months and days, plus total days lived, the weekday you were born and your next birthday. The “Age at” date starts as today, and you can change it to any other date.

How it works

The calculator counts complete years first, then complete months since the last birthday, then the days left over. Only dates are used, so the time of day and your time zone do not change the result.

Steps

  1. Choose your date of birth.
  2. Leave “Age at” as today, or pick another date.
  3. Press Calculate age and read the result.

Examples

  • Born 15 January 2000, age on 15 January 2025: 25 years, 0 months, 0 days
  • Born 20 May 1990, age on 10 March 2025: 34 years, 9 months, 18 days
  • Born 29 February 2000, age on 28 February 2001: 1 year, 0 months, 0 days (see the leap-year question below)

Common uses

Checking age for school admission, forms and applications, job or exam age limits, insurance and retirement planning, and working out how long ago something happened.

Frequently asked questions

How is exact age calculated?

The calculator adds whole years and months to the date of birth for as long as the result does not pass the “Age at” date. The days from that point to the “Age at” date are the remaining days.

What if I was born on 29 February?

In years that are not leap years, this calculator counts your birthday on 28 February. Other systems use 1 March, so a legal or official age may differ by one day.

Can I find age on a past or future date?

Yes. Change the “Age at” date to any date on or after the date of birth.

Why does the result show 0 months or 0 days?

That is exact. It means the “Age at” date falls right on a birthday or on a whole-month point after one.
